    Russian Fairy Tale

    A terem s a house known to every Russian from childhood fairy tales. At the end of the 19th century, in Astashovo, 

    a Russian peasant decided to build a terem for his young wife. Today this terem

    has been restored to the way it was built initially and is open to the public.

    Smolenskoe Poozerie is a unique and absolutely beautiful place that incorporates thirty-three lakes that are surrounded by

    virgin forests. Park researchers say there are thirty-three bears there,

    Painters' Village

    on the Volga River

    Tutaev is actually a small town, but it's divided into two parts by the river and there is no bridge. You know what that means?

    The two parts live separate lives and don't have much in common. We travel to the smaller part that looks more like a village

    rather than a city and is famous for painters such as Boris Kustodiev who lived and worked here.
